The short version

Lawn Inside is a lawn care publication. You don't need an account to read it, and we don't sell anything to anyone.

Two things are worth knowing up front: the site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects information about your visit, and the homepage carries an optional newsletter signup form. Everything else below is detail and edge cases.

Lawn Inside publishes lawn care and lawn mower guides at https://lawninside.com. To ask about anything on this page, or to have data removed, email lawninside@gmail.com.

What we collect when you just read the site

Nothing you have to give us.

Like effectively every website, the server that hosts Lawn Inside keeps standard access logs when a page is requested. These typically include your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the time of the request, and the page you arrived from. These logs exist to keep the site running and secure — diagnosing errors, blocking abuse — and are not used to build a profile of you.

Newsletter signup

The homepage carries an optional form headed "Subscribe for Updates!" which asks for a name and an email address.

As of 17 July 2026 that form is not connected to a mailing service: submissions are not delivered or stored anywhere, and no newsletter is currently being sent. You never have to fill it in to use the site. If the form is connected to a provider in future, this page will be updated to name that provider before any address is collected or used.

Comments

Comments are turned off on most articles on this site.

Where commenting is available and you leave a comment, WordPress records what you enter in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, which help with spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it; the Gravatar privacy policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/.

Cookies

Lawn Inside does not sell or share data for cross-site advertising.

Cookies here come from more than one place. Some are set by the site itself so it can function — for example by the theme, or by the caching layer used to make pages load faster. Others are set by the third-party services described below, including analytics, which set a cookie so that a returning browser can be recognised.

Content embedded from other websites (see below) can set its own cookies, and those are outside our control.

Embedded content from other websites

Some articles embed video from YouTube.

When a page contains an embed, that content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website directly: the provider can see your request, set cookies, and — if you are logged in to that service — associate the view with your account. YouTube embeds are governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one.

We embed video only where it genuinely helps show a physical task, such as a mower repair.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand which articles people find useful — which pages are read, roughly where readers are in the world, and what brought them here.

Google Analytics sets cookies and assigns your browser a randomly generated identifier, so that repeat visits from the same device can be recognised. It receives your IP address along with information about your device and browser. It does not tell us your name, and we don't use it to try to identify you personally. Google's privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Advertising

There are currently no display ads on Lawn Inside, and no advertising networks are collecting data about you here. If that changes, this page will be updated to name the networks involved and explain what they collect.

Who we share your data with

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing.

The only parties that handle it at all are the service providers needed to run and measure the site — the hosting provider, and Google Analytics as described above.

We may disclose information where we're legally required to, or where it's necessary to protect the site against abuse or fraud.

How long we keep it

  • Server logs are kept for a limited period by the hosting provider for security and diagnostics, then rotated out.
  • Analytics data is held by Google under that service's own retention settings.
  • Because the newsletter form isn't connected to anything, there are currently no subscriber details for us to keep.

Your rights

Whatever country you're in, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct it if it's wrong.
  • Delete it.
  • Stop using it.

Email lawninside@gmail.com and we'll deal with it. Given how little we collect directly, the honest answer to most requests is that there is very little to hand over.

Depending on where you live — for example in the UK, EU, or California — you may have additional statutory rights, including the right to complain to your data protection regulator.

Children

Lawn Inside is written for adults maintaining their own property. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted their details through our signup form, email us and we'll remove it.

Links to other sites

Articles here link out — to university extension research, product labels and manufacturer documentation. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one doesn't cover them.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, this page changes with them, and the review date at the top is updated. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect, not after.
